Information

I hope that everyone enjoyed Thursday's pack meeting.  I think that it was a good balance between learning (a scout is clean) and fun (Alka Seltzer rockets). 

Here is a recap of the announcements:

-New scouts - if you have not yet turned in your application and/or money, please do so ASAP

-POPCORN - It is popcorn selling time!!  If you do not have an order form, please let me know so that I can get one to you.  It is very important that each scout sells as much popcorn as they can.  The money raised will go toward fun activities, trips, camping gear, and t-shirts.  The more we earn the more we can do.  Also, last year we earned enough to cover everyone's annual fee (due in January).  It will be great if we can do that again.  Please try to sell. Checks may be made out to Pack 74.  Order forms and money will be due on Oct 22.

-Very few people signed up for our popcorn selling tables at the mall in October.  Can anyone be there Oct 3 from 11-1, 1-3, or 5-7?

-October 10th is our camping trip at Wellesley Island State Park. We will be meeting at LCS at 1PM.  All families will need a tent, sleeping bags, pillows, warm clothes, flashlights.  I will be sending out a separate email with more info about the trip very soon.

-October 17th is Punkin Chuckin in Clayton.  The event is at 11:30 this year, so we will be meeting some time in the late morning (probably around 10:30).  Each scout will need a helmet (bike helmet is fine) and a small pumpkin about the size of a cantaloupe.  More details soon.

-October 22nd is our next pack meeting.   It will be our Halloween Party.  I am still in the process of planning the details.

-The October 3rd event at the Black River Drive In (this is not our pack's event, this is a district event) is not a camp out.  I was wrong about that.  It is over when the movie is done.

Here are some pictures of our fun day at Salmon River Fish Hatchery and Salmon Run Falls.  It was a great day!

A Day at the Farm!

What a beautiful day for a trip to the farm!  The scouts, along with siblings and parents, helped pick up sticks in an area where Farmer Danni often drives her four wheeler.  After the work, the boys enjoyed a tour of the organic farm.  They saw pigs, cows, turkeys, ducks, chickens, and goats.  A good time was had by all.

2 District Events

There are two district-wide events in October.  We are not attending either one as a pack, but if you are interested individually you are more than welcome to sign up.  If you do plan on going, please email jmatkinson64@hotmail.com because council is trying to get an idea of how many to plan for.

October 17-18   Fall Spooktacular Family Weekend at Camp Woodland (Constantia, NY).  You can find more info about this event at www.cnyscouts.org
