Pumpkin Chunkin'

Pumpkin Chunkin' is this Saturday.  We will be meeting on the Riverwalk in Clayton (by the new hotel) at 11AM.  The boys don't need to wear their uniforms.  Dress warmly since it will probably be chilly by the river.  Each boy will need to bring a helmet (bike helmet is fine), protective eye wear if you have it (don't worry if you don't), and a small pumpkin around the size of a grapefruit, no bigger than a cantaloupe.  There are 2 important things you need to know about this event:

1.  Cub Scout insurance will not be covering any of the scouts at this event.  I have been notified that this event is no longer approved by our scout council, so we are participating at our own individual risk.
2.  This is an event that is coordinated and run by the Clayton Chamber of Commerce.  I do not have any input as to how the event is conducted.  Please note that there is NO GUARANTEE that your scout will have the chance to launch a pumpkin.  In the past, 2 pumpkins are launched for the contest judging, but after that participants may launch pumpkins just for fun.  Hopefully it will be the same way and everyone will have a turn.  With that being said, please understand that I do not have any control as to whether or not we will all get the chance to launch a pumpkin.

Our Halloween party will be on October 22nd at 6:30 at the Legion (our monthly pack meeting).  Everyone young and old is welcome to dress up!  There will be games and snacks.
